New Bubble Tip Anemone

I put a new bubble tip in my tank a few days ago, 3 days ago to be exact. I had the thought I should try and feed him something today. I took some frozen raw shrimp (just regular shrimp from the frozen section at the grocery store) and thawed it in saltwater, cut it up really small and put some in the middle of him. He didn't eat it, he just closed up and let it fall out. Am I doing something wrong? Is he just still in shock? Is there a different kind of shrimp I need to be using.

Also, my two clowns haven't given him the time of day, any way to know when they will take interest in him?

You should hold off untill he acclimates to tank. I never feed mine and they are doing great. If you have good lighting they do not need to fed very much.

Okay, I will. I read that if the clowns host in him he won't need to be fed, so even if they don't you dont think I should feed him? I have good lighting, all my corals are doing awesome.

My lfs store has rose bubble corals and they are huge. He told me he might feed them every once in a while but not to often. Sometimes clowns will take food to there hosts. Remember most corals get most of what they need from proper lighting. About 95%

I see, anemone isn't a coral, though, right? I also read they eat the clown poop, too, if they host with it. I hope they decide to host with it soon.

What do you feed your clowns? When you feed the tank, some of the food will most likely make its way to the anemone.

I've got a clown troupe and nems... don't bother feeding them more than once every couple or few weeks if at all. they're mostly photosynthetic in nature. And the clowns can take months to host. My five clowns didn't care about my carpet at all then one day it was a fight for it. Just be patient and leave them be. All you can do is provide good light and good water. Nature will handle the rest.
