What tank do you have? If it's a standard, rimmed tank, these do not need a mat under them. If you have a newer, rimless tank, it almost certainly came with a leveling mat, which are required for rimless tanks.

What size tank?
Tank Size
Recommended Foam Thickness
Up to 40 gallons
1/4” (6mm) closed-cell foam (e.g., yoga mat, neoprene)
40–100 gallons
3/8” to 1/2” (10–12mm)
100+ gallons
1/2” (12mm) max — thicker can lead to uneven pressure distribution if it compresses unevenly

Nothing.
Just a trap for moisture which will bleed to the wood over time and can cause seam failure as wood expands.

A 75 gallon rimmed tank should NOT have any foam under it. It doesn't even require plywood underneath. The glass is supported by the rim which is what we need to support without any foam.
^Spot on, no mat needed here 🙂
