I have started a salt water aquarium for the first time. I decided to use the Red Sea 250. After setup up I made a rock scape and filled to test for leaks.

Here are some pictures after the water cleared up. I decided to add a bit more rock and after the cycle was complete I added a fearful test corals while I wait for the first fish

I love the aquascape. Only thing I’d watch out for is the structure on the right have detritus getting stuck between that and the wall. It looks like they are very close. Otherwise I looks gorgeous :)

Thank you! I decided to leave it free standing so I could lean it to clean. If I have any issues I’ll move it forward and glue some pieces to make the base heavier. That way it’ll be a few inches from the back wall

Update on the new build. Went to local frag swap. I added several pieces and I will keep monitoring the tank.

Corals before fish?

I've never come across a build that added corals before fish. I would think it would be the other way around.

Corals require some nutrients, and without any fish, I don't believe there is a source of nutrient.

Are you feeding you coral?

I have a royal gramma and a fire fish in there lol. 2 clowns are coming in another week or so.

I am also spot feeding with reef roids as well as AB+
