Got my hands on a nice used Canon dslr. Still learning all the buttons and functions but I managed to get some shots. Opinions??

I like pics 3 and 4. The 2nd to last one is good too. Little blurry on the others and not focused on the main subject.
Colors look good though. What? Op asked what I thought?! Lol

You are correct! These old eyes need some focus practice!! I was primarily working toward a proper exposure without editing with software. Thanks for the constructive criticism!

Are you using manual or auto focus? I used to use manual focus most of the time I was shooting macro, especially under water subjects. I dont know if anyone offers one for your camera but I found a split prism focus screen helped tremendously for me. I have old eyes also ;)

Nice shots. Which body and lense did you get ?
Agree with the soft focus on few but that could also be distortion from taking shots at oblique angle through the glass . Having the lense perpendicular to the glass would decrease the distortions.

I bought a used Canon 40d and an 18 to 55 macro . I used to be a decent photographer but it’s been years since I held an slr.
