I got a new awesome chalice 3 days ago. I noticed today it has started to bleach. I moved it down under a ledge. Knave mh in my 500 gallon tank. Any ideas? I was thinking maybe a iodine dip?

keep in under the shaded area is good starting point.
If its only bleaching, I don't think you need iodine dip just yet.

If it is bleaching that quickly it probably is getting too much light. Keep it in the shade and give it time. I have had people give me bleached out chalices and I did not have any hope of them coming back but over time in a shady spot they did.

Thanks for the advice. Is there a way to create my own shade from something other than rock. My tank is pretty loaded up and is hard to find a good shade spot . Any ideas?

Didn't you have another post about an acan bleaching as well? I am guessing you have something chemically imbalanced if it happened to both of them.

Too much light. I always have the same problem with newly acquired chalice. So i decided to set up a nano tank for the chalice frags. Under compact PC lighting, they always recover and grow. After a month, I transfer them to my display tank under MH.

I bought 2 chalices and they came in bleached, I kept them in a very shaded cave in my tank and 3 weeks later I have some color. That said, I seriously didn't think there was any hope at all.
