New Coral Reef Discovery (cold water reef)

That's great news! Lophelia pertusa is a stony coral, an aquarist would call it a LPS. Grows a bit like Euphyllia, but much thinner branches and all white.
We got small deep water reefs with Lophelia corals in Sweden and Norway as well. From 85 meter deep and deeper. Unfortunately trawl fishing has destroyed most of these reefs, but at least some areas are nowadays protected.

We hope to exhibit this type of ecosystem at my work, a public aquarium, in the future. But it's not a species you buy at your LFS :) So we are trying to find a way to get them with all the proper CITES papers.

Thanks for sharing!
