I love dosing my aquarium. It makes me feel like I play an active role other than just being the guy who refreshes the water. I emptied out some beautiful bottles of reef products. Reef foundation builders and aminos and other such potions. I refilled the bottles with RO water and a pinch of buffer. Now I can dose daily without screwing up the system. It's been two weeks with this new dosing system and everything looks happier. Less brown on the glass, coralline taking over the back glass, and crucifer anemones swelling up nicely.
I'm going to leave dosing unknown ingredients behind. From here on if the bottle does not list its exact chemical ingredients I won't use it.
Still using Ca, Mg, and buffer. Single known ingredients with testable and known effects. And I still get to use the eye dropper to satisfy my dosing urges with good water in a beautiful bottle.
