I have inherited an aquarium. About 135 gallons. It has a pvc filtration system already. However I want to replace it. I would like to replace it with a System that will accommodate salt water and Fresh water. I also want to replace the pump. Any suggestions. Does anyone do setups in the Atlanta Georgia area ?

I've been very happy over the decades just using basic unlit sumps. A sump provides both additional water volume and surface area, both good things. For a reef system a few pieces of maricultured coraline of live rock will provide the cryptic sponges so essential for recycling the DOC in a reef system and for a freshwater tank it provides a good settling area for detritus and an area a mechanical filter can be setup.
