Hey guys whats up so im about to receive a niger triggerfish how long should I acclimate him before I put him in the water ?

About the the same time really a good rule of thumb is 1hour to 2 hour. But overall it comes down to what you are comfortable with. I myself only do a 15 min drip and have never run into a problem. I also know people who just float bag fish and are fine. But to be on the safe side 1-2 hours on a slow to medium drip will be okay for almost all fish.

For fish the main thing is to adjust the fish to temp, ph, and sg. Depending on how different those parameters are from your tank and the water the fish was shipped in will affect the length of time for acclimation. Generally 1 hr is fine. Some species are more sensitive so require more time. Regardless most online venders will provide acclimation guidelines to follow for warranty purposes.
