Here's a write up from RHF about ammonia toxicity in reef tanks. It's largely dependent on the pH, and ammonia is not as toxic as often thought:

From the above, RHF writes:
"4. Toxic levels of ammonia are just not reached in typical operating reef aquaria. Seeing a measured value of 0.2 ppm, whether real or test error, is not a concern. It may be a benefit."

And many are now dosing ammonia, which increases nitrate in low nutrient systems, and is thought to be directly beneficial to corals:

I hope this helps 🙂
great thanks dude, love some chemistry 👍

I can 2nd the fact that wrasses are shy and quite elusive for a few weeks. They hide quite well, but my first 6 line darted straight for rocks and wasn't seen for almost 3 weeks. Poof, wrasse, hello. Was totally fine.

Oh really? 😂
There's still hope then!

Just an update on this if anyone's interested.

My LFS had a pink streaked wrasse come in that day, it looked a bit stressed and was being chased by another fish in the tank, so I brought and took home acclimatized in a bucket adding tank water every 5 mins then netted to the tank. He played dead on a rock at the side of the tank, so I shut the lights off and sat out of the way watching after about 15 mins he zipped behind the rocks, aaaannnndd that's the last of him I've seen in 2 weeks....
Same as the last one, very strange; I might have seen him as I added a conch when I was watching him right at the back of the tank I though I saw a small brown shape slowly drift back into a crevice might be a bit of hopium there tho...
