I just purchased a Royal Gramma. Is there anything special I need to know? I have read a few things online but the experience is here I'm sure.

Mine is easy. he hid for a week or so only coming out to eat. Now he's in and out of the rocks all the time but stays in a small area of my 125. He eats anything. Overall a nice fish good color, stays small and easy to keep.

Hardy, not picky, shy in the beginning, but will gradually get bolder. Will spend most of it's time near a cave or overhang that it will claim as it's own and will defend against other fish that venture too close.

I kept mine in qt for a month, it didn't venture out that much, but when I put it in my display it really came to life. One thing that startled me is when it would hang upside down in its cave, but I'm told that was normal. Great fish, sadly one day it stopped eating and died.
