New green Gigantea

I got this tiny green Gigantea. Only about 2.5 inches. I got him attached to a Oyster shell. he does not deflated, partial bleached.
I got him into my sump where I can control light and feeding well. Will feed him a tiny amount today and see how he responses to better care.

Nice addition! I only have one experience with a small gig. I got a 1” brown gig from Pete when I bought his collection. It was with Pete for about 2 years. I got it and I had it about 1 year. It was an interesting animal to watch grow. I never fed it. I ended up giving it to the guy that bought my mertens, a 2 for 1. That guy ended up killing both with a crashed system. But, I can say, a small gig can grow with feeding. I watched it grow from one inch to two inches big. It could have grown much faster if I fed it. Feed that guy, and I suspect it will go from 2” to 6” in a year if you feed and give good environment.

I have Pete’s “Goliath”. It used to be 24-30” with 6” tents. It was an amazing animal. Now it’s about 12-14” and typical starved tents, 1-2”. It currently looks like a typical gig. Gigs are interesting, they can go up and down in mass. But tiny ones, like yours, those are the ones that haven’t been screwed up by us reefers lol. You’ve got one that’s fresh, as fresh can be. Now it’s on you lol. Best of luck!

There are a lot of carpets in my tank. By and large my fish able to navigate the mine field OK. Have not lost a healthy fish for a while

I am surprised that mertensii died. Such a shame after all that care you have it for so long.

He is under a lot of light. I have 5 flood light, 5500K and Two Kessil in my sump, an area of about 4 Square foot. There is a spot light just shining right on him.
Feeding day today since I am home.

It took a while for him to eat the small shrimp piece. Healthy Gigantea absolutely devours food in a few second, but not him. At least he is eating and not regurgitated it out later, as far as I can tell.
Please excuse the Aptasia that is almost as big as him.
