New gsp wont open?

I just bought a gsp frag along with a zoa , all my corals doing good but this new gsp wont open?, it has a little brittle star under it that came with it? Where do i need to move in the tank for it to open

How long has it been in the tank? Did you dip it first? GSP are pretty tolerant of placement. Med-high light and medium flow.

GSP also tend to get really angry and close up for a few days if they've been irritated. A tank move is definitely an irritation event. Give it a little more time I'd say.

+1 on angry they can be moody sometimes I've had mine close for 4 days or more

As long as the mat is still purple, it's alive. Leave it alone and it'll open up eventually. GSP is one of the few things I've never managed to kill.

Its been in for one day and yes still purple, where should i place it? On sandbed or?

GSP will take many conditions but prefers strong light and high flow...I have it at both the top and bottom of my tank. Just make sure to put it somewhere where it can easily trimmed back.
