Do you feel like you get a good spread over the whole footprint of the tank with the AI? Looking at one of these tanks and I love that light
Its the best light i have used but its also the first high end light ive ever purchased but it seems to have good spread it casts light on the ground through the glass on all three sides of the peninsula.
I need to add that if if was the im 20 penisula it would probably not have enough spread.

Good to know, I might have to go with one of these.

Sorry about lack of updates but ive been busy switching rooms and setting up furniture.

So the only thing I have to update is that the algae growth part of cycle has begun.

Finally a new update of parameters

Day 24

Salinity - 1.024
Temp - 77.7 F
pH - 8.2
Ammonia - 0 ppm
Nitrites - 5 ppm
Nitrates - 0 ppm possibly current levels being consumed by algae.
KH - 10
Calcium - 420
Phosphates - between 0 ppm and 0.25 ppm as my test kit doesnt do any measurements in between these but its definitely not either.

Yay new update

Day 28

Salinity - 1.024
Temp - 77.7
Ammonia - 0 ppm
Nitrites - 0.5 ppm
Nitrates - 30 ppm
pH - 8.2

Seems the nitrogen cycle is about done but i still need to do a water change once nitrites hit 0 ppm and then do the 24 hr test to see if my bacteria is ready. The algae growth part of cycle is produced diatoms and green hair algae ao far.

Yes sir. It's the same one I have I think it's a lot better than the standard IM top. Ours doesn't block par.
Sorry, didn't get a notice that you had replied. Yeah I love this screen kit, it doesn't even leave shadows of the mesh. I have always used eggcrate as ive had tanks with rims but had to figure out how to do it with a rimless and this was the best thing i saw for it.

Why I am on as I haven't had any real updates and have been busy i have neglected to update but my tank is easily handling 1 ppm of ammonia to 0 in 24 hours and now im just throwing a few flakes in to feed the bacteria till i can afford some livestock for the tank. Oh all params have been stable except for when i have spiked the nitrogen cycle elements to test my bacteria.

I do have a dilemma as the algae that grew has shown me my water flow i can see the dead spots in the tank and would like some suggestions for a great pump for a 14 gallon to help with flow. #reefsquad

Siice gets all the glory. The IM 326 mighty jet should fit. I'm happy with it. Actually had to turn it down some. The combo of the aquascape, pump, and wave maker together is what's important to the overall flow. RFG and spin streams have really helped reefers with flow Imo.

I had the 20 peninsula for a while it was great but wanted a tank in our living room so we upgraded to a 40 cube. But awesome tanks super easy to keep. I upgraded to the sicce 1.5 but had to take the front guard off to make it fit so measure a lot before buying a pump. I also suggest a random flow generator if you don’t want a power head in your tank. I got the vca one with drop down from BRS and loved it cut down on dead spots drastically.
For live stock suggestions a clown pair and clown goby are awesome. A cleaner shrimp is also a great idea.
I wanted an anemone rly bad but one they like bigger tanks and 2 I didn’t want it moving and covering the small overflow. So we went with torches as a second option and love them. Rock flower anemones are great and tons of color. Then I am always a fan of zoa gardens.
Sorry for the rambling but great start can’t wait to see how it turns out.
