Hi Friends,

I have life-aquatic return pump and it had ceramic shaft impeller which broker. after this failure i feel buy another ceramic impeller is not worth it. So i though to move on to DC. I my hunt i got two pump

1 - Jeboa DCT 8000 -- New.
2 - Vectra L1 -- Old another reefer is selling.

I do have reeflink and MP40's to link vectra.

But i need you advice is it worth buy a used ecotech used pump or better to go with brand new pump.

Thanks
Imran

I would take into account how old the used pump was, but for me personally I'd probably go with Jebao. I've used jebao returns pumps for several years with absolutely no issues.

My Jebao are as good as any other DC pumps, both the baby one on my calcium reactor and my basement return pump dcp 10000 have been flawless. And pay for themselves in electricity savings. The 8000 is probably 100 bucks how can you go wrong? and if your curious, the 8000 has the same impeller as the 10000 just less torque in motor

Depends on the price I guess. I currently have a L1, pretty old no problems. Kept up on cleaning. Its near perfect still. I would only look out for the older L1. Some from overheating would cause the insides to warp.

Price wise the difference between is around 70 bucks, Is there a way to find the overheating issue in a pump by model/serial.

as i have reeflink, the controllability is a plus for me.

Its the older ones with white insides, in where the impeller is. They made the fixes a few years ago. Some time after 2017-2018 not sure exactly. The new ones and the fixed old L1's have black plastic inside. Basically what was happening was inside where impeller is was melting so they used a different plastic to fix issue.

Jebao are the best return pumps in the mid price range :)

only better are the red dragon and abyz,

I sold my vectras for Jebao and couldn’t be happier.
