Okay hive mind. I’m thinking about replacing my Vectra M2 (currently on a 120G) since it’s about four years old, and keeping it as a backup. My current preference is to buy a new M2 as the replacement since it’s served me well. And if I get a pump failure it’s much more “plug and play” since the plumbing remains the same.

But I’d be open to suggestions for any other DC pumps.

If you have a Neptune system, a COR-20 or Sicce SDC are other options (I run a Sicce 6.0 and 9.0 on my 200-gallon system).
Thanks @blaxsun I do have a Neptune system although I’m also running Mobius for my powerheads and doser. I seem to remember a lot of complaints around the Cor-20. I’ll have to revisit and also check out Sicce

Sicce supports IOTA with Neptune, so you can use the Apex to control the speed of the pump through the control panel (I use this to throttle down the pump to idle when feeding to minimize what gets sucked into the weird and wasted).

If you have good luck with a product, why switch?
I haven't had any issues with my M2 for 5 years.

That’s exactly it … “luck”. I’m starting to worry that if the pump fails I won’t have a backup on hand or it will happen when Im out of town. But I’m leaning towards the M2 so it’s a much easier changeover

Nothing wrong with wanting a backup.
