Raritan basin is undergoing mass pollution right now
so, New Jersey reefers, how the heck do u do water changes?

I am confused how this stops you from water changes. Also that river goes through many super find sites and one of the biggest is where they pull out the water to supply houses. I haven’t herd anything knew about the water except in June/july

in union county, its pretty polluted, my school shut off water to the water fountains, and my town gave is all a massive warning

would ro work fine? I'm not spending 150$ for something that I already KINDA have
do you want all of the contaminants removed or just most of them? :winking-face:

Buy distilled water from the store

If your tank is small enough you could always buy rodi water from the lfs or distilled water from the grocery store. It will be cheaper in the long run to buy a di canister for your ro unit.

idk how I would hook it up
u got a video or something?
check out the 5 minute mark - it shows how to add another canister, in your case it would be a DI resin canister.

If you need to buy water temporary from lfs i highly recommend reefco in green brook or tsm aquatics in Pennsauken.
I have a 6 stage with 2 ro membranes I bought from brs and never used it. It got wet and it looks used. Also I don’t know how resins and filter condition as it’s been sitting for 6 years. If needed make an offer in a pm and it’s yours.

Edit. Not trying to sell but it’s all the help I can give as I’m not the guy to talk you through how to plumb

Another option is maybe we can meet and you can see how the do is plumber in to guide you

If your source water is as bad as you report, I’d run 2 carbons and 1 DI with your RO. The final product is a derivative of your source water, so if RO pulls 95% of TDS on 100ppm source, the 5ppm of “something” remains. It could be harmless, or, over time, build up and cause problems.

With 0 TDS water, you know that you’ve pulled all you can and then, only adding back, those things we need to benefit our reef friends.
