I got at a petstore near. he really and is eating frozen. I also have a good amount of copepod, but bought some more at the pet store i got him. Is their anyway I could teach him to get pellets.I will get pictures soon.

Mine does as well so it is possible it just has to be small/soft enough for their little mouth

How big of a tank do you have him in? What is he in there with? I really want to get one, but I don't feel that I can grow copepods fast enough in my 20 gallon, and I have a pair of clowns in there that I'm not sure would be very friendly with him.

Do you have a refugium area?

Then you are likely to run out of pods. They need a safe environment to grow and reproduce.
+1000, they will eventually run out and starve. Pellets and other foods may help for a while but not for long term health. Only way you can get away with it is to culture your own pods and add every week or buy them constantly. I personally feel that mandarians need large systems with a good size refugium to thrive.

Ya, that's what has stopped me from getting one. That any my clowns. They have a BTA in there with them, and I don't quite trust them to be friendly, at least not enough to put another fish in there as of yet.

They will be okay with clowns because I have a pair too. they haven't bothered him yet.

I have a condy in their as long as your fish is strong it shouldn't bother him:).Keep you updated

Yes a Condy and a Mandarin in a 10 gallon, fairly new set up, excellent idea.
