Picked up a new Maxima yesterday at RAP, was in a bag for an hour and a half or so. Dipped for 15 minutes and temp matched the water within a degree with my tank water and put it in. Hasn't moved or opened yet, should I put it directly on the sand? Raise it? Leave it alone? Been in the tank since 1:30 or so yesterday.

Thanks!

My revive, says nothing about not dipping clams.

Oh well, guess we'll see what happens, seems some do some don't.

Revive would be the safest. 15 min is a bit much for a clam though. Here is hoping he pulls through.

Would you suggest just not touching it then?

Thanks,

Thanks, expensive screw up i guess... :(

Even read, up before buying, thought it would be better safe than sorry as far as pests are concerned.

Thanks all

Everyone messes up sometimes.
I have heard when introducing a clam that you should drip acclimate it and scrub the shell with a toothbrush.
Better luck next time :)

For future reference most dips for clams are just freshwater dips using ro. Generally only done if you know you have a pest as it is very stressful. Just give it time. Your cuc will let you know if it has died.
