What have you done so far............. I mean with your tank of course ;)

Dead shrimp from the grocery store right?

Did you do any skimming yet?
Have wave makers going?
Maybe you can ask a cup of salt or a piece of LR from your LFS or any hobbyist close to you.

Yes from the grocery store lol

Yes I emptied out the cup last night it was icky.
Wave makers are moving.

Good morning!

Great, all you did is the good things.
Cycling with a shrimp takes some time.
Btw, you did remove the shrimp from your system all ready right?

Welcome home! You'll love it here! Keep us posted on that beautiful tank!

Your Good morning must be better than mine :)
Well, I mean by now you can remove the shrimp in it's pantyhose entirely.
By now you have enough ammonia in you tank and the bacteria need to do their job by consuming that.

Is this algae or the start of diatoms?

Look like diatoms.
What kind of sand you have?
What I see looks like super fine sugary sand.

here we go! so many fun things await you... a lot of not so fun things too but just do your research before you do anything. next, i'd setup a QT for fish AND corals.

Yep! That's a great sign!
+1. Just be patient for the uglies. When my 125 cycled I thought I was going to have to rip everything down. It was awful. Then a few weeks later; It was like a switch went off and the tank was crystal clear and the real fun began!!

If you keep doing what you're doing, you're going to be an awesome keeper of the reef!
