Thanks for you kind comments, I to love this hobby and you just get the pleasure looking at you tank because there is always something going on and when you feel down a bit it’s a good pick me up tonic.

Hi me again, I checked the calcium and the alkalinity today prior to my 20% water change. Interesting!
The calcium read 590ppm and alkalinity 5.3dkh. What! So I did a little research online, and what I have been doing wrong from day one is, when mixing the salt with my Ro water it was not used that day after a couple of hours but stored in the bin in the garage with the heater and pump kept on for at first weekly changes, then biweekly and recently once a month, thinking that the corals would have time to use up the calcium. Obviously what l know now thanks to you for putting me in the right direction is the salt mix has been precipitating especially with the circulation pump and heater left on. So that explains a lot.
You always learn something new with this hobby.
