Hello all!

Happy to find such a cool community!
After loosing a tank many years ago twice b2b to a move between states first, followed by a snow storm power outage at the new place, I am slowly returning back to the hobby. Bet many of you know, unfortunately, how disheartening it was. And every snorkeling trip, every pet store run I’d find myself eyeing corals and fishes like a kid at an ice cream place lol.
So last year, for our 10th wedding anniversary I didn’t get a new ring from the husband. I got a 32 gallon biocube. “Just to chill”.😂 Which I knew right away is not going to last, because who wants that kind of pain after a long break. I needed something big🌚 So here he was, a month later, driving 2 hours one way to get me a 1 year old 90 gal. (71 gal. display) off FB marketplace. We know we aren’t in our forever home and will move in 5-8 business years. Then we can get a brand new tank or probably build one to our liking. This will do for now. We still had our gen 3 XR30s, several octopus skimmers of various sizes. Replaced a bunch of things the tank came with. Upgraded ATO. Added turf scrubber.
And let me tell you - the roller mats are the biggest game changer. No more socks? Whaaaat?😂☠️
Next I want newer lights, the gen 6 pros look amazing, but the blues look good too. Pros are better, right? I am all about growing corals and already stuffed it with all kinds of frags and my babies are growing🥹 Sooo many things are agricultured (aquacultured?) now, and just generally more available and so much cheaper.
But the fish situation looks sad. The whole ordeal with tangs is crazy. We tried getting a powder blue that fell to ich despite eating nori like a champ. I am a bit afraid to even try again tbh. Are there any breeders that are safe to order from?
Anyway, if you read through all this - thank you for bearing with my jumpy thoughts, and here are some pics with the current situationship🤗

Ah yes, the upgrade to hold you over til the next upgrade. You’re all stocked up and looking good already! Welcome!
Hahaha yes! I know what you mean. But we really have no space for a bigger tank/different set up in this house :( the equipment I don’t mind upgrading 🫡
