I recently got a 30 gallon reef tank and I have coral set up and some live rock. I have two Clownfish, a six liner, a red shrimp, and a gobie. When I first bought the tank, I asked for them to give me everything that was cheap except for my light my light they told me was the most important thing so they give me a good light. I got an AI blade coral grow and I’ve been having some issues and I’m trying to find the best settings to put in the app for coral growth and just overall best for my tank and I’m also just recently upgraded both my flow makers to one reef wave 25 i’m trying to find the best settings on the app power wise for my tank and you don’t overall flow for the tank and also where to position it inside my tank for the best flow. I recently have a diet tone issue and algae bloom due to the fact that it’s a new tank and I was told that the story that this is common and I’m trying to get past it. I have all my cleaning crew and everything, but I’m just trying to find the best steps to take since I am a new owner and I don’t want any more issues already lost one coral and I’m trying to find the best possible solution solutions.

What are the water parameters? Did you cycle the tank and let it get past the ugly stage prior to adding any livestock? Nothing happens fast in this hobby.

I waited four weeks before adding in any fish they told me I can add in coral cause I put in a certain chemical. I can’t remember what it was to get a kickstart so I can put things in sooner, but I didn’t wanna put any fish in just yet I waited a month like they asked me to The owner of the shop help me set up the tank and everything I needed, but I’m upgrading to more powerful and better products and it’s still in its ugly face, but they told me that’s not an issue. I have a lot of hermits. I have a lot of snails and cleaning crew to help out with that. They told me every tank goes to an ugly face. The reason I got ticked off is because my celebrity levels are messed up and I made a mistake and added salt without mixing, which is my first mistake I’ve made. I kind of panic when I did it and everything seems to be fine except for two of the corals and they told me that’s fine that everyone makes mistakes and I’m new to this. I just started a month ago. I’ve never had saltwater or anything like that, but I was really interested. I’m trying to get everything together.

Just remember to take a few breaths and slow down. Please read through the forums here and do more research prior to buying anything else and putting it in the tank. Lots of valuable resources and help available here. Good luck.

Trying to see what to do different then what I have if I should place and adjust things more differently if my settings on my light are to much or to little. And where to place everything

Also, as others have asked, do you have water parameters on hand? (Nitrates, phosphates, salinity, temperature, alk, calcium)

Temperate of the tank is at 80 as suggested by the shop manager for my fish, salinity 1.024 as suggested as well. And I have test kits don’t have the exact numbers on me but they all tested fine and were triple checked and watched multiple videos as well
