Started my reef today. Need help IDing these anemones since I don't really know the different kinds yet. They don't look like the photos I have seen images of aiptasia and majanos online and they do not really look like them, but I can't expect these to be anything but those. Posted earlier but the photos were kind of bad so I tried to get a slightly better photo.

Also looking for new reefer advice on handling outbreaks! There is no coral in the tank yet so I am wondering if there is stuff that will only kill aiptasia/majanos but not my other live stuff.

For nuisance pest, I use hydrogen peroxide. It’s easiest if you can remove rock from tank. I use a toothbrush dipped in peroxide or a syringe injection of peroxide.

i can pull them out since i havent finalized my rocks just yet either. any idea what they might be? there arent an abundance of similar photos online.

Top pic is a cup coral. Comes in infrequently on Gulf rocks. They’re pretty cool. Bottom looks to be majano anemone. Look up best ways to remove aiptasia/majano.

i also thought it was majano, but the tendrils look pointy and when i look at majano photos they have round tips. are there pointy tipped majanos? just asking for future pest proofing! i dont know all the pest varieties just yet

I can’t tell. It’s not aptasia. I have manjano and I don’t find them to be pest.

Hidden cup coral and if yellow tentacles most likely light bulb.
You guys are actually who I ordered this rock from so I can trust this, it looks like a lightbulb in shape and color, but maybe a bit greener. Guess I will let them stick around! Thanks!
