Hey guys so I have another question I acquired this shrimp today from my lfs and the kid isn't sure what type it is and I certainly have no idea... it doesn't seem to look like any that pull up except a "sugar cane shrimp" .... he periodically just runs around the tank and goes back into his hole. Is that a sign he is stressed? I've never owned a shrimp before so I am not sure what to expect in his behavior

I actually just found an article that looks exactly like it " Parhippolyte uveae " ..... Seems like there isn't alot of info on caring for them or what they prefer... if you guys had any suggestions you could shoot my way that would be appreciated! I'm assuming it's just a regular cleaner shrimp from his tiny little claws

that looks to be it! I've never seen one in a reef before, I'd be careful with it around things like zoanthids and mushrooms for the time being. There are pics online of them in reef tanks, but the links are all in foreign languages.

Oi that's certainly a little unsettling, I do have an anenome in there.. I guess keep him well fed if anything so he won't peck at it by chance

Try not to buy any critters you haven't done research on first. I know it's tempting, but it can really bite you in the rear...
