Looks like a lot of thought went into this build Jorge! I look forward to seeing the finished product.

There was a lot of though. Just gotta sand and trim and paint. I got some flat trip today but don't think it's gonna make it gonna return and get a wider piece.

A lot of thought did go into it and Time I tried not to rush it and wanted to make it nice. I permanently fasten all the panels today got some did some sanding will do more soon after I fill in spots and screw holeswith wood putty then I'll paint it already bought the paint today. And now that the stand is built I can finish the plumbing and once that's all set I'll pick 2 days and do the overhaul I'm thinking if getting some check valves for the returns. I don't want an accident and have the In laws be angry.

I think I'm gonna put a couple pieces of trim in the door for a little depth , and input. The door has 2 screws that will be the bottom of the handles

Was looking to add something to a tank I had purchased to keep the tank in place. I had purchased metal T's I was going to use but they didn't go with the look. Great idea with the wood trim I will do the same! What kind of paint are you using? And any type of sealant?

Hm that sounds like a nice combo! I was thinking of white or grey as grey is very "in" right now. The stand came painted black though so I think I am going to keep it black and just repaint.

I always have my hand in the tank and it comes out dripping so I think I will use some type of sealant. I like the use of the DJ strip, I have been a wedding DJ and have the same exact one. Tempted to steal it from my setup but then when it's time to tone down some of the lights for certain dances I won't be able to!

I would love to build my own stand but am not confident in my wood working yet. I think I will try a canopy for my 40B. If I can do that then maybe I can do one for my 72 bow front!

I love the build and keep us posted! Excited to see the black and white!

Thanks man !! Hey I hit the strip from eBay for 20 bucks ! I ended up buying 2 lol , I thought white for the inside would be best because it would sort of lighten up. And reflect light a little better the paint I got is pretty tough and can handle being wiped up

Building your own stand is not that hard. Take your time and find nice wood to fit your design. Measure twice Cut once ! Home Depot will cut wood for you ,, lowes as well... Just make sure it's all cut the same.

I'm posting a stand I bought and am strengthening up a little. It's for a 72 now front so I'm taking it apart and replacing the hardware that's rusted and really making sure it can handle the weight. I already tested it how it is and it holds the water fine. However this is going to be my main tank for a long while. Until I buy my house. So any expertise would be appreciated I'm posting pictures.

Looks good. Is that the Curve 5 skimmer? I have that and it works awesome.

Pretty simple. I did have to build a platform to keep it in about 8" of water. Otherwise it would do crazy stuff. It says operating depth is like 9-11"
