New Tank algae

So my tanks been cycled for about 2 weeks and got some algae I'm not 100% on. I'm assuming its Cyano. Also the 2nd pic is from my conch snail, he seems to have some kind of mucus coming off of him.

That looks a bit more like dinos to me. But I should not be quoted on it. Cyano looks more like a red carpet on your sandbed.

So I took some water too my local reef shop to get tested since i needed RO/DI anyways, he said since its new its probably just Diatoms. Which makes sense since the tank is so new.
 

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
