New Tank Theme Paralysis

Anyone else ever run into this?

I’m inching closer to jumping back into the hobby after a bit of a hiatus. I just struggle with what direction I want to go.

I’ve always wanted to have larger fish but I’m not at a point yet where I can commit to such a large system. I do know I want most stick mostly to soft corals and/or gorgs. I also know it will be an AIO, even though I’d really like a sump.

I’ve kind of narrowed it down to something in the 5-15g range. I’d really love to have a helfrichs firefish or maybe a pair. I’ve also tinkered with the idea of doing a rare goby tank for a flaming prawn, white cap, and circus goby.

So many decisions but can’t seem to figure out what I want to do! Part of it is also knowing that I want to have that larger tank down the line or possibly a seahorse/pipefish tank. I don’t want to be maintaining multiple systems though.

So many decisions to make!!

An AIO is little maintenance.
Big tank is big maintenance and big cost.
If have some experience and decide on harder to keep things like horses or pipe fish , go for it . It will add a bit of work as algae like nutrients and low flow . The same as the critters

I would really like to do a seahorse tank but I’m not sure where I’d put the tank right now. I’m think a small AIO is probably best for right now because it would be easy to move or transition
