Hi I just finished my fishless cycle. 50 gal tank: first purchase I plan is 2 clowns, and two xenia. I have been reading about not putting the frag plug in the tank, however I am certain I will not have the strength to take it off. would encasing the entire plug in multiple layers of glue essentially trap any pests so they die in the glue layers (kind of like putting nail polish on a tick)?

If you take the plug off a soft coral then your done, it’s difficult to reattach because unlike hard corals, you can’t glue them.

Keep in mind, Xenia multiplies real fast and can break off and reattach in other spots, thus for some, becoming a pest which can be difficult to remove.
