Hello :) I am new here and I was wondering if someone could please tell me what’s going on with my toadstool! I’ll post pictures of him (I just feel like it’s a guy ) below! He has a black “plug” looking thing, I’m wondering if this is shedding or something of the sort. Thank you in advance! (First pic was early this morning right when the lights turned on and the second picture is after an hour or so of the lights being on)

two things cause this in a toadstoll. . . .
A worm which is least likely based on appearance but more often, beginning of a shed/reproduction. It will release pieces of itself called cloning and suddenly you have a few new heads.

Wow, this is a new one to me. So they will shed a piece straight from the center? Very cool.

Also, welcome to our new friend!
