New tank

Hi guys my current tank (fluval evo 52l) is just getting over some hair algae problems the tank is over a year old but I will be moving house at the end of next week and upgrading to a 500l tank if I put the rocks from my old tank into the new one will the hair algae spread I’ve googled but I can’t really get a good answer off it.

Sure, it could. It could also be remedied, depending on the steps you take to limit /control nutrients. Walk us through your current chemistry, filtration, lighting, and maintenance, please.

Lighting is on 6 hours a day white light then dark over night, parameters are as of last time I tested which is every Wednesday.

And filtration I have a 3D printed shelve unit which has 4 racks they have filter media on and the filter sponge is stock with carbon and some more media in it.

Also water change weekly Friday or Saturday depending on how much down time I have, stocked with 2 clowns and a tailspot blenny.

It will spread if conditions are right. I'd get a yellow tang and/or other herbivores (Mexican Turbo, tiger conch) to keep it in check.
You might treat the rocks with hydrogen peroxide outside the tank, but depending on concentration you may damage the live rock critters.

I like the sounds of a Mexican turbo I will add the rocks and sort it without chemicals thanks bud!
