How Important is it to clean all this stuff I got used? I did my best with hot water, vinegar, scrubbing and a razor blade.

It looks fine. It will all get coated when you set it up anyway. :)

overflow is fine ---- try to get the junk out of the locline if you can. that old stuff / die off will get blown back into your tank when you fire it up
