Quick lunch break update, the clown pair an dottyback are loving the extra room the 90 gives over their previous 32g. I seeded 4 jars of eco pods Saturday night in preparation to transfer the Ruby red dragonet over this evening.

Thinking i should wait another week before starting the refugium and skimmer up to get a little nutrients up.

Also very curious to see what kind of ugly stage I get being that I used ocean direct sand and my established 30-35# of rock.

Next on my stock list will either be a one spot foxface or bristle tooth tang. Unless think I should wait to add them last?
Still wanting a anthias/ wrasse, goby, few blue chromis and the 2 larger fish

Got to take a trip to the LFS today an picked up few more pieces of rock to finish the scape off. Also added 3 blue/green chromis for some color and activity in the tank. Going to transfer my few corals over probably middle this coming week so can get that tank broke down and sold

Ended up moving corals over this evening, old tank should be sold by end of week.
They are still little ticked but hopefully perk up over next day or so. I’m excited for all the new space and to slowly start stocking it over next few months

I'm building a 90 gallon with a reef ready with the dorso. How do you like that pump so far? What speed are you running it at?

As far as the pump it’s been decent as far as setup and quality, only downside I’ve had with it is when power flickers or shut it down for water change/ spot feeding it reverts back to %100 until the dial is adjusted ever so slightly instead of going back to the set level. I run it at around 55-60% and that seems to be the happy spot for keeping the overflow steady and quiet. I probably could have got away with a lower GPH pump but I plan on adding stuff to the manifold later like reactors and such that will use up some and still not even have to run pump above 70-80%

Just a brief update, did first water change today an brought skimmer online. Getting thru the diatoms finally, still some brown uglies on some of the rocks and glass every few days. Built some mesh lids from the BRS kit and got a 3d printed feeder door for it.
Had to dose nitrate and phosphate since it’s been hanging out at 0 for awhile, afraid I’m goin to get Dino’s. I feed 2 times a day and reef roids 2 times a week to try to help out. Going to the LFS Tuesday to see what they got in an may pick up new fish, also going to up my clean up crew since I only moved what little I had from the 32.
I figure in the next 2-3 weeks I’ll feel comfortable with adding some more corals.

Little update. Slowly adding to the tank as it is settling in. Skimmer has been running nicely and pulling some real dark skimate out. Went thru a few filter socks as well as the uglies passed. Got nitrates and phosphates back up from zero as well.
Added a few new members to the tank,
A lyretail anthias and a one spot foxface. Been doing great besides the fox taking appetite to my new rainbow Lobo oh well it was a gamble since he hasn’t bothered any other corals an I keep nori on a clip almost every day.
new corals from recent live sales and a bogo sale at lfs:
Pink branching hammer
Scarlet blasto
Teal candy cane
Taste the rainbow chalice
Nuclear eye favia
Mermaid branching hammer
A grafted mix alveapora
And the rainbow lobo that’s almost been picked clean

I’ll try and get some better fts with lens on next time

Added a Diamond goby and he’s been doing some re-landscaping but I love them an like the dynamic look to the sand bed. Also picked up a toadstool leather but hasn’t fully perked back up yet. I know they can be finicky when handled.

Current paramaters:
Salinity-1.026
Temp-77.8
Ph-8.42
Alk-8.1
No3-13.2
PO4-0.06
Cal-402
Mag-1480

It’s been long overdue for an update….although I wish it was a good one it’s been a rough few months

started with slow random loss of lot of corals, then a outbreak of something (ich, velvet, brook) not sure what it was but it claimed all but one spot foxface, 2 chromis and Diamond goby.

Got a quarantine setup and only was able to catch the foxface whose been in for his 30 days but for a whole month I’ve but been unsuccessful at catching the chromis and Diamond goby out the display even tho they never showed signs of disease I know I need to let the display run fallow or risk another outbreak even after copper treating the foxface and any new added after.

I kind of slacked off on water changes after all the losses but I’m trying to get motivated and back in the groove.
tested last night and alk is down to 7.2 and phosphate is high at .34 so I’m going to try and slowly bring them back in check and still working on catching other fish without destroying rock work.
Also looking into an apex with trident to help stay on top of things

Little update. Tank is doing much better now.
Have few new additions….lyretail anthias and aptasia eating filefish. Who has not ate any yet ha. Also lots of new coral frags. Ricordia mushroom, 2 red gonis, pink softie, teal hammer, orange lobo, rainbow lobo, molten lava lepto, jawbreaker zoas, reverse prism favia, another Duncan and a Koji wada nepthea, I think that’s it.
Been working on water changes and getting everything stable again. So far so good.
here is last 2 full tank shots. One was before the last coral additions an can see most fish. Second one is with new coral but fish are not all in view

Seems I always go without updating often but here is short little update…
Started kalkwasser in my ato an it’s keeping alk steady 8.2-8.4. Hope that starts translating into some nice coral growth since it’s been real slow since starting this setup. Not a whole lot of additions Coral wise. Did add a red coris wrasse and powder blue an they are doing great

Did your foxface make it? They have been my favorite tank addition and love having them in my tanks.

Yes he did, I also love watching him in the tank
He’s best buds with the powder blue and they graze together an follow eachother thru the caves
