New to Saltwater

Welcome to Reef2Reef! Sorry to hear about your clownfish. Before you put the little guys in the tank did you have a chance to treat them with any parasite removers? I also suggest looking up QT techniques. You’re in a great place for help! Just keep asking we’re here to help!

That white sheen you mentioned is brooklynella and AKA clown disease. That would make sense.
Observe future clowns for the same, heavy breathing and eating Before purchase.
Acclimate well, freshwater dip and introduce

Hello All

I setup my first reef tank back in June. It has been an interesting journey. I recently had a couple small clowns die. I have tested my water and everything seems ok. Hoping to find some help.

Welcome to the channel. The heavy breathing could have been because they could have had a parasite. Did you purchase your fish from a local store, then placed them into your tank?

Welcome to the team! Sorry to hear about the clowns but with any luck the group here will be able to get you squared away. Looks like they are already on the job with some suggestions!!
