SPS is easy to know if alive.

If it is peeling-- it's dying or dead. You'll see flesh peel off the skeleton.
If it's turning white -- it is bleaching or dead.
If it's turning brown but no algae growing on it -- still alive.
If it's turning brown or dark green and algae growing on it -- It's dead, Jim.
If it has polyp extended -- very much alive.
If it has fluorescent colors popping -- very much alive!
I posted a comment a minute ago, I do have a couple pictures on my phone I will put here now, then send one tonight when I get home. Hoping you can advise.

These are the first day, and then a month and a half later. So it seems happy and growing, but I want to send one tonight of the area in question

So I have a question on this. I have a piece of PC rainbow acro that was given to me awhile back, I will post progressive pictures here when I get home. But the color is great! It was damaged with a couple dead tips when given to me, but is rapidly growing over those tips with new growth. But I did notice a couple days ago, on the back side, where it is growing up over the previously dead tips, it appears to be peeling back a bit. Can I send you some photos this evening and see if maybe you could offer some advice?
Sure. No problem. Might be a flow issue (too much), if it's peeling just a little bit.
Yeah that’s what I am thinking too

We are able to keep some pretty amazing creatures. I have pincushion urchins and am always having rescue hermits and small snails. I had one find a little piece of GSP behind the rocks and carried it around for over a month before it looked so I stole it and mounted it lol
Be careful with that GSP. I saw a huge GSP covered rock in my LFS and the price was too good to pass up. $100 for a 6” x 4” piece. Thought it would look nice and cover my rockwork in the back of the tank. Now it’s growing like a weed. Using bio warfare against it by putting some stingers next to it.

This the GSP in my 300. I had to remove the wier last week to pull it off. Its brighter than any of my acros lol.

EDIT hmm Maybe the green stag is a little brighter

I would frag off the white part because it'll keep unravelling if it's still peeling. Maybe a few mm below the peeling part. To check the flow, use a baster to blow air bubbles at the powerheads to see where the direct flow is coming from.

did you see the other photo where it has grown almost all the way over the part that was once white?

Yes I see that. Sorry, there's no reference for time so I thought it was the other way around. If it progresses, then it can recover. No need to cut unless you see obvious peeling.

I will post a pic tonight when I get home. I will circle the area I am concerned with. Tank you for the help.
