I've been in the hobby for quite some time, but have never been able to achieve that pristine display that everyone strives for. Right now I only have an Evo 13.5 that had been doing pretty well until I went to work for a popular online retailer/delivery company. The 10+ hour overnight shifts have contributed to a decreased maintenance schedule resulting in a massive algae outbreak that I'm struggling to get control of. Honestly, I've already started working on a 40 breeder to move my fish and corals over to. I find the lower water volume of the 13.5 to be too demanding for my schedule at the moment, and my Clown and Frogspawn need a bigger home anyway. I'll just nuke the rock and sand from the Evo and start fresh. Anyway, thanks for having me.

That sounds like a good plan! the larger volume defn give breathing room.
the starter bac that's out nowadays works great if you want to avoid liverock.

Yeah. Using dry special grade sand and aqua forest rock. Going to do a long fish less cycle dosing microbacter seven. Hopefully I'll avoid some obstacles anyway. I'm going sumpless, so I'm going way overkill on hob equipment. I'll have more than enough flow, filtration, and skimming for sure. My evo did well, but it's been through a lot over the years. I'm pretty stoked about my new build, since I'm more stable financially and can get a much better start. I'll do some pics later.
