Hello and Welcome to R2R! There are a bunch of great helpful people on here that will give you some great advice. BTW, you don't NEED an aquarium controller like an Apex, but they sure are nice!

Welcome Tim! Those don’t look like feather dusters. Do they have a crown that they extend out more often than not? Those almost look like peanut worms. Perhaps @KJ knows?

They open up like feather dusters. They are clear though. If my filefish swims by they go back in just like the feather dusters.
