Hello all,
I am a retired epidemiologist who accidentally fell into this new hobby. It all started with a trip to the pet store and the purchase of a baby betta. Within a month I had 2 ten gallon tanks, a 5 gallon tank, a 1 gallon, and a .5 gallon freshwater tanks. I recently purchased a 36 gallon bow front tank that I would like to set up as a reef tank. I just bought some live rock from my LFS but I haven't set up my tank yet so the rock is still at the store. I have read quite a bit about bad and good hitchhikers but few pictures of what I should be looking out for in terms of what is growing on the rock. I bought this piece of Haitian rock because I liked the shape of it. I also bought a little Indo live rock and some nano live rock. I noticed that this piece of rock of little reddish/purple buds on it. Does anyone have an idea of what this is? Should I be concerned???
