New to the hobby

I’m new to the hobby have had my tank cycling for 2 weeks have added beneficial bacteria’s aswell as live rock and live sand, now I’m looking at what fish I’d like to add I’m dead set on having clown fish and some form of sand sifter any suggestions would be appreciated the tank is the fluval 52l any other fish recommendations would be amazing

Did you test the ammonia and nitrate to make sure the tank is cycled before adding fish?

Two clowns would be ok in this tank, although the recommended tank size for 2 clowns is 20 gallon, so I'm not sure about adding anything else... clowns grow and become more territorial as they grow. If you have plenty of rocks, you might be able to add another small goby if it has places to hide from the clowns. Also to mention this fluval tank comes with basic limited filtration, the filtration is not made to handle a high bioload, so try to keep it to two, or else no more than three fish.

It was more so seeing what fish I could possibly have in that size tank I have tested but I wanted to let it cycle Abit longer but thank you for the feedback I appreciate it!

Welcome to the hobby, as mentioned perhaps in addition to the clowns, a small goby like an orange spotted goby or blenny like a tail spot blenny.

Not knowing your experience level, stay on the safe side with fish bioload. Gain experience with your present ecosystem and consider establishing some easy soft corals

Also on that note I really appreciate the feedback but I don’t know if I’m being an idiot what should my water parameters be I think my levels are okay but I’m not sure if I’ve got the right tests for it I’ve just ordered an ammonia test

Keeping a pair of clowns in this size tank is mostly just going to make you be far more diligent about water parameters. Adding a 3rd fish just makes that that much more important.

I would recommend being more patient up front with cycling, and really dealing with the uglies, before I put fish in it if I wanted it technically over-stocked.

Strip tests are highly unreliable. Get salifert, RedSea or Hannas for your testing!

I have a Hanna salinity tester but okay perfect!
