Hello everyone, New to R2R, I have spent countless hours reading various threads on R2R and decided to make an account. I am new to the hobby and am willing to learn and be involved in the reefing community. A little about myself, I am 31 years old born and raised in Houston Texas. I am a sales Manager for a roofing company. I am an avid fish and coral enthusiast and recently decided to pull the trigger on my first saltwater set up. It all started when i was younger and had a 25 gallon tank with goldfish. That evolved into having a small pond in my back yard with koi fish when i was in middle school. After high school and moving out of my parents house I got a 75 gallon aquarium with African cichlids This ended when being young and moving from apartment to apartment so I decided to sell it. Now that I have gotten older and bought a new home I wanted to get back into the hobby so I purchased a 215g freshwater tank and stocked it with Central and South American Cichlids. This was done 2-3 months ago. Absolutely an awesome tank but saltwater has grabbed my attention with all of the bright colors etc. I debated on just switching it over to a saltwater set up but have become attached to the fish already. So the decision on purchasing another set up was made. I decided I wanted to have a mixed reef. I will be creating a build thread as I have purchased a new Cade 1500 and most equipment needed that all should arrive after Christmas. I am super excited to be a member of R2R and be able to make new Reefer friends and be apart of the reefing community.
