Hello all
I had aquariums in the past but all fresh water, and never aquascape. I guess if throwing some manufactured decorations in a tank is aquascaping ok I have done it haha. I had one salt water tank a long time ago and didn't really know what I was doing. I am getting back into it and trying to actually make a reef tank. I plan on getting Mandarin Dragonet, Purple Fire Fish, Coral Beauty, Red fire shrimp, Radial File Fish, and maybe an Exquisite Fairy Wrasse. I try to do a bunch of research before I do things. I'm looking forward to keeping everyone posted on what I learn as well as how my tank is going. If anyone has any suggestions for someone that is new to all this I'd like to hear it. I put my aquarium in the aquascape forum. It is nothing but rock right now. I can't wait to see everyone else aquariums and the aquascapes you have come up with.

Welcome! I’d wait a year on that Dragonet as they have to constantly consume copepods. A new reef tank will not have an established biome of life for many months. There are captive bred ones that can eat frozen food, but they are very small and still have to constantly graze. I’d research all the fish to make sure the tank will suit their needs. Instead of adding them all at once, start with a couple less demanding species. Reef tanks take much longer to get going than fresh, and patience is a must. Happy Reefing!

I agree. I wasn't gonna add them all at once. I was gonna get something like damsels or something like that to get everything started. I figured it would take a while to get everything started and going. That list of fish is my end game not my start game haha. Thank you for your input. I think sometimes we get excited about having something new and want to get the end result right now. So it was a good comment to say wait a bit. Thanks
