Hi all,

I'm planning out a nano tank build, but this will be my first tank so it's all very new to me - please bare with me.
The current plan and hardware list is as follows.
Tank - Strideways Douro 60P (60 x 30 x 36 cm; ~65lt)
Cabinet - DIY ADA style cabinet (60 x 30 x 75 cm)
Sump - Custom to fit available cabinet space (55 x 25 x 30 cm; ~41lt, but I am unsure as to how much of this is usable volume)
Return pump - Ai axis 20 (found it for a steal).
Lighting - Noopsyche K7 pro v3

I understand that small tanks can fluctuate a fair bit, so originally planned to add the sump as a way of increasing total system volume as well as the usual perks of hiding some of the unsightly components, but now I feel like things are far more complicated than they could have been had I gone for an internal or canister filter.

That aside, I'm looking for advice on how to add an overflow to the system while maintaining a clutter-free look around the display. I had my eye on a viv/mame glass overflow, but there's not a huge amount of information online regarding this product and now and then you stumble on posts where people have "issues" with them - no one really discloses any of these issues other than that they require frequent cleaning/maintenance.

What are my options here, as the thought of drilling the tank terrifies me?

I know you are terrified of drilling the tank, but it's really not that hard. You could also ask your LFS to assist. Eshopps makes a really nice small overflow that would be great on that tank. It would allow you to add the sump to house your equipment.
