It's been years since I was in this hobby. Just want to show case my 110 tall with 40 refugium. Have one question though. I made my own rock and currently it's curing in the fresh water. Can I start cycling my tank now with out it and just add when it's completed? I have 160 pounds of live sand. Just itching to get this started

I think if you have something to house the bacteria, you can start cycling. Why do you have the rock in the fresh water, is that related to the fact you made it, like from concrete?

Yeah I had the family make their own rock(portland cement, sand, oyster shell and salt). Supposed to cure it in fresh water until the readings are safe enough to put into the tank.My plan is to have them in the display tank and they pick out the coral they want.

I just picked up 20# of live rock and put fiber pads in between the baffles.

All set up and cycling. Also built a step stool for the grandbabies so they weren't standing on a chair trying to peer in
