Hey everyone,

First off, huge thanks for all the advice on my previous thread! I've taken it to heart and decided to do a full reset of my aquarium. I've removed all the dry rock and started the curing process with a bleach soak 1:10.

It's been over 24 hours now, and while a lot of stuff has come off, there's still some residue stuck to the rocks. I'm hoping someone can help me identify what these things are. Are they just stubborn and need more time in the bleach, or is bleach not going to cut it?

More importantly, if they don't come off completely, will they cause problems in my aquarium, like decomposing and messing with my water quality? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

When I did this I left them in for 48 hours in bleach, then hit them with pressure nozzle on my hose, let them sit in the sun and completely dry out then put them in my tank. That was about a year ago and my tank had no issues after. Bleached them because there was something on them that was releasing ammonia like crazy in the tank.
