Is it just me or are there insane acans popping up all over the place? We just had our Cincyreef frag swap and there were too many nice acans to count, most of which were $20-25 for 2-5 polyps. I'm not talking A or B grade, I saw rainbows at this price.

I'm not complaining, got my hands on about 8 nice frags! Pics to come later, hopefully!

I was at the swap and saw the same thing. There were some guys at the very last booth on the first isle that had awesome rainbow acans, they were a little more pricey, but I couldnt take my eyes of them. I bought some Acans from Landlord (kurt), for a good price to try out In all the years, I have never actually kept them, but I think I found my new low light favorite coral

Acans do fantastic in lower light, in fact, if you get some "rainbow" ones, they will bring out this rainbow color better in lower light. At the very beginning of the swap I picked out 6 acans frags from renewable reef. They ended up being 20 bucks or so a piece, most had 4-5 heads. A few of the were rainbows, super bright orange, etc. I definitely need to get somes macro shots of them.

Try spot feeding fauna pellets once a week. It will help with color and growth. I use it and get great growth and color in my acans.

How do you keep your fish from eating them?

Also, what tool do you use to drop the pellet in the mouth?
