I have been tinkering with my settings for a while now. When I ran the blues and violets at 100% my goni and Bernardpora closed up. I have now lowered the lights so they peak at 75% blue and violet, 10% white, and 5% green and red for around four hours.

This seems to be making the LPS happy, but now I wonder about my acros up top. So far, they seem fine, but I was looking for insight from anyone running these lights.

What are your settings?

(Additional context: 5’x26”x24” mixed reef. LPS in the bottom third of the tank. SPS in the top half. I am running two gen2 lights, 200w each.)

It’s a tough question to answer , only someone with your size tank and same pair of lights can answer that. If you can rent a par meter from your LFS it might be the best way to answer your own question. Good luck

I run these lights (2) on my 5'x24"x24". They peak for me at 100% blue/violet, 40% white, and 25-35% green/red. They sit roughly 10" off the surface, and the top of my rock is about 16" from the light. My highest par is barely 250, and it runs between 50 and 80 on the sand, depending on where I measure. My corals either bleach or brown out then bleach, so far only a toadstool and pulsing xenia have done decently. I'm sure there's something else causing problems, but I haven't found it yet. I've considered dropping my whites lower, see if that has any effect, but know that it took raising all other colors considerably to hit those numbers. There is a narrow-lense kit you can buy for these lights, but it involves taking them half apart to install, so be prepared for that.

Well at 50 par you arent going to grow anything really. There have been some other par tests and at your % you should be getting a bit more than that. I mean your tank is a bit deeper but if they are accurate youre going to need the 90 degree lenses

So it depends on how elevated your lights are above the water level.

I made a par map of my tank and some initial settings. I did a range of different parameters but my tank is more shallow than yours.
Tank Length: 47 inches (~4 ft)
Total Depth: ~16 inches
Sand Bed Depth: ~13.5–14 inches
Water to Light Height: 10.5 inches

In the end I lowered the light as it was too high up and the light would get into my eyes.

Par Map for 56 Blue & 56 V and 14 White, Red & Green same tank height. Height is around 8.5 inch with this par map above the water level.

Oh believe me I know, found that out after losing low-light corals and getting a par meter. When I purchased them with the standard wide lenses, there were diagrams stating you should be getting 200 par on the sand of a 20" deep tank. Most of my attempted corals end up in the mid to high rockwork range, and still had issues. I had acros go pale then fully bleach under 230, and lps brown out at around 170. The screen top is clear so it shouldn't interfere that drastically. I've wondered if the par was really that bad, if there was a problem with the blue to white ratio, if it's a flow issue, nutrient issue, or some kind of disease. I haven't seen anything that looked like pests or disease. Often times a coral is open and nice for several days, maybe a week, then closes and goes either brown or pale, and no increase or decrease in flow improves it. Then usually RTN overnight. Could easily be my problem, I'm simply offering my experience since I have the same lights. I do have a recommendation if someone needs a budget light that can put out stupid high par though.
