Posting PAR data for these lights as when I was shopping around I found it shockingly hard to find info on lights for 31” tall tanks. Most data is collected on shorter tanks.

48x24x31” 150 gallon running 2 HyperReef 200W lights with the stock 120° reflectors mounted 9” above the water surface.

Light settings are:

60% violet
60% blue
15% white
15% red
15% green

The numbers annotated with (100%) were taken with the lights maxed out.

Not terrible. Seems like your gonna want to run these at 100% for your depth of tank. I have the 150s running at 85% blues and 30% white. Coral growth is solid but maybe not spectacular

Which PAR meter? Looks like the 90° reflectors would help quite a bit for a taller tank
Par meter is an Apogee MQ510.

Yes, I would greatly benefit from 90° reflectors, lowering the lights, and/or raising the rock work.

I will probably get the 90° and retest par when I’m ready for SPS. I’d like to keep the rock work low for this build for above reef fish to swim.

My LPS and softies are exploding near the sand bed.

At 100%, I’m getting 280par on the sand bed, 300 a few inches up the rock work. Wouldn’t that smoke my LPS/softies?

I’ll probably buy the 90° reflectors when I’m ready do SPS. Right now my soft corals are doing well. I’ve had 11 near the sand for about a month and they’ve all spread off the plugs already.

Is this gonna be just a softy/ lps tank? If so then no i think 60% would do it. Was thinking sps. If mixxed maybe go 80%. Acros wont grow as fast but your lps and softies wont get smoked. Altho you would be suprised how high lps and softies can handle when acclimated slowly
