Nigers tend to be pretty unpredictable as well. Some are model citizens, while others are unholy terrors from the start. They tend to get more aggressive as they age. They also need a lot of swimming room -- 180g minimum.

Well. You could give it a try. A lot of fish, even ones that eat shrimp, will recognize a cleaner shrimp and leave them alone. I have a coral banded that hangs out with the meanest Maroon Clown that won't let ANYTHING in its home range.

I had a Cleaner Shrimp with a Niger, once. He didnt' last very long once he came out and the Trigger noticed him.

My understanding is that triggers generally leave shrimps alone that were introduced before them. Introducing shrimps after the trigger usually results in a snack for the trigger.
