I have asked for giftcards the last three x-mas so that I can get a new dslr camera. Well I can't decide which one to get. I have read 1000+ reviews between the two I really just don't know which one to get. Either get the d5100 and get a macro lens or just get the d7000. Please people help me out.

I would say get the cheaper D5100 and then a decent macro lens. I enjoy my d5100, only wish I had more time to spend playing with it. I think either way you will be happy, and really it isn't the camera that kills you in the cost, it is the lenses.

What do you pan to use it for besides macro photography?
