I'm looking for a small lot of
Purolite
A520E
and was wondering if any of the resins used were this particular brand.
Only place (smaller than 1/2 cu ft) that I've managed to source it from is in
England.
Shipping doubles the cost of what I need (2 liters....1/10cu ft. )
1L is 12 pounds sterling.

Plenty of resins none actually seem to list real ingredients..

Are you wanting to use this for water filtration or in-tank? It doesn't seem to be appropriate to use in saltwater, based on the info on the website.

Why not just use one of the proven methods like vodka/carbon dosing, use bioball reactor, increase refugium lighting intensity or photoperiod, skim more wet.

For treating prior to becoming tank water..
And technically yea just remove nitrate though the type of resin has an affinity for heavy metals and tannins..
You use mixed bed resins w/ 1/2 being "like" my nitrate based question

Technically.. for a fw experiment..or say pre-treatment of top off water prior to salting..
Ok, good. It appears that saltwater is what's used to regenerate Purolite, so adding to a SW tank does not seem wise ;)

Yep pre-treatment..
" In a mixed bed system, the strong acid cation and strong base anion resin are intermixed. This effectively makes the mixed bed tank act like thousands of dual bed units in one tank. The cation/anion exchange is taking place over and over within the resin bed. Sodium leakage is addressed because of the sheer number of repeated cation/anion exchanges taking place. By using a mixed bed you can produce the highest quality of deionized water possible."

So again I'm interested in what you use for the strong base side.. specifically.
Technically..
Macroporous polystyrene crosslinked with divinylbenzene

Saltwater can be used but more often brine like 10%..;)
The anion resins used in nitrate removal applications are regenerated with ten percent brine at a dosage of about ten pounds per cubic foot.

You can get Nitrate removing inline filters that are supposedly filled with A520e resin.
Maybe you could use those to do what you want, or buy a few, cut them open and get the resin out???

Supposedly isn' t quite good enough though. :)

I did write for more info.

Not to be cheap but still 2x $'s than I care to spend atm.
I suppose due to patents I haven' t found a competitor's product.
Well except on alibaba.
There are other nitrate resins but also other formulas as well.
Last stuff I bought was supposidly nitrate selective but works best for tannins .

Like this:
Discharged..
